Hi there — I’m Amanda Hale, and I’ve built a life and career around one driving passion: helping small towns come back to life.
From Main Street in Tazewell to the coalfields of Pocahontas, I’ve had the privilege of working with communities across Southwest Virginia (and beyond) to spark transformation. Some call me a grant writer, a coach, or a community strategist — but more than anything, I’m a Rural Reviver committed to building stronger towns through vision, action, and heart.
Rooted in Revitalization
My journey started in Tazewell, Virginia — the place that ignited my belief that small towns hold big potential. From organizing downtown events like farmers markets and concerts to leading our nonprofit in securing a Main Street designation, I’ve seen how intentional effort can turn a struggling town into a thriving hub.
That work even caught the eye of Virginia Living Magazine, which featured me in their “Revival on Route 16” article, highlighting our community’s incredible turnaround.
Building a Town, One Project at a Time
I’ve worn many hats: nonprofit director, boutique owner, coffee shop entrepreneur, and coach. Each role has given me a new way to serve — whether that’s helping entrepreneurs develop a stronger brand identity or preserving the architectural beauty of historic buildings in places like Pocahontas, VA.
Historic preservation is more than saving bricks and mortar. It’s about protecting culture, identity, and the soul of a community. With strategic fundraising and a collaborative spirit, we’ve stabilized historic structures and created a foundation for new life to emerge within them.
Coaching Entrepreneurs, Empowering Communities
Small business and small town go hand in hand. I provide tailored coaching for entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and local organizations looking to grow with purpose and make a lasting impact.
Whether I’m speaking at a revitalization retreat in Burton, Texas, or working one-on-one with a startup in Virginia, my mission is to deliver actionable strategies that lead to real results. I love helping people discover the tools, funding, and mindset they need to succeed — and watching them breathe new life into their communities in the process.
